BUTTERFLY BIOGRAPHY/PRESS - AUG/SEPT 2003

"Butterfly is a poetic and uplifting film, Beautifully designed and modeled
and drenched in atmosphere.  It is an important contribution to the art of
British animation and, best of all, very moving".
- Mark Cousins - Film Critic 17/08/03

“DUSTY WORKSHOP FILM PACKS QUITE A PUNCH!”
- Sussex Express 13/06/03

“After a painstaking 5 year process, visionary Chiddingly arts Graduate Corin Hardy has finally finished work on his ‘dark yet uplifting’ animated film Butterfly.”
- CHRIS POLLARD/Sussex Express

“I was absolutely knocked out by the film. soon after this 30 minute short began, I felt like I was watching a feature film in animated form. The film had a great effect on me and I am sure this talented young man is going to go far”
- AMANDA WILKINS/Kent & Sussex Gazzette

“A stunning piece of animation, which creates so well the almost psychotic distress the character experiences in his lonely world - this film will be a valuable resource for all”
- BARRY WATTS/Mind Millennium Awards Book

“Shooting on film was an early decision as it was important to (Corin) that his 25 minute film had a ‘real-model-magic’ quality akin to, he hoped the Ray Harryhausen epics”
- EXPOSURE/FUJI FILM MAGAZINE

“What was the film about? Who was involved? What were we going to see that was just 30 minutes long and yet took 5 years to make? How come it had attracted such a large audeince of all ages?
I am left amazed that one as young as Corin can have such a depth of knowledge & understanding about mental breakdown & be able to find such a powerful & positive medium with which to convey it. I’ll certainly never forget the experience.”

- SUE BURROWS/CHIDDINGLY PARISH MAG

“The angular, shadowy world that Corin has made for Butterfly fits the tone of the story perfectly; some bits are shocking (and they’re meant to be) but every single scene is born from imagination and it becomes impossible to tear your eyes away from the screen - It has to be seen to be believed!”
- CHRIS POLLARD/Sussex Express
